Easter Chicky

I realised I had one more Easter Card to make but today I was struggling with inspiration but I think this card turned out nice. I went to pinterest and found some inspiration on there. I made a yellow card and matted on a scrap of plaid paper and some turquoise. I cut my little chick and his egg from Simply Charmed and stamped a Peachy Keen Critters face (so cute). I stamped You're Egg-straordinary from a set from My Creative Time for Me down the bottom. I ran the oval through my dot Cuttlebug folder and the turquoise strip through a border Cuttlebug folder. I cut 3 different size flowers from Accent Essentials and went around them with a white gel pen for faux stitching and a white brad to finish.

Easter basket cards

I've been working on these for a few days but got them finished last night, I am so pleased with how they turned out, so cute! These are for our mum's and dad's for Easter. I used the basket off my Doodlecharms cartridge and put it into the Cricut Craft Room to weld them together to make the card base. I cut 2 inserts for the front also in a different shade of brown. The fun part was decorating them. I wound some ribbon around the insert part of the basket handle and added daisy trim to one of the baskets at the front. I used the Doodlecharms cartridge to cut out eggs in 2 sizes and different colours. I decorated them with trims or punches. I cut out 2 scalloped circles from Cricut Accent Essentials and used a round stamp on it to stamp the greeting. I then added a spotted button to one of them with twine and on the other a punched flower, button and twine. Sweet little baskets : )

Love for Breakfast

I decided to make a start on my Valentines Day pages. I've still got lots of other occasions I'm halfway through scrapping but it's February and It's a loving month so I'm in the mood to do my love pages and I'm just going to scrap what makes me happy at the time and this is it and not worry about what I haven't scrapped yet! I started with some red cardstock and added a mat later of heart paper, it's like an argyle print, I love it. Not bad considering I got it in a pack of 5 with some other prints for $1 from Target. I used the Cricut Craft Room and Accent Essentials to cut out some hearts out of pink. I took out the hearts and used the negative images and put patterned paper behind them. I added a glitzy red border down the side. I did my journalling as strips on the computer. I found a great Valentinesy font online which is so cute with the hearts. The good morning sunshine is from an Echo Park sheet I got recently and it was perfect for this breakfast page. For the font I did a shadow effect using Cuttin Up also in the craft room in pink and white. Then I cut some strawberries from the Preserves cartridge. I used my Peachy Keen faces stamps to stamp on the very cute faces and coloured in the eyes with white gel pen. The felt hearts are actually the clips Greg used as decorations on the vase on the table, so I just took the pegs off and stuck the hearts to the page. Very cute and lovey page.

Friendly little birthday cupcake

Last night I realised I needed to make a birthday card. My lovely Greg was on the computer and fixed the issue with the Cricut Craft Room for me (yippee!!) so meanwhile I was making this card. I used a purple card and then on the pink mat I ran it through my Cuttlebug with my cupcake embossing folder. I used 2 border strips on top of that. I cut out a scalloped circle out of dotty paper and a white circle both from Accent Essentials. I used Something to celebrate to cut out the lovely little cupcake in pink and white. I used my Peachy keen faces stamps to stamp on a face and used white gel pen to accent the eyes. I had a heart brad in my stash which I put as a cupcake topper. I then went around icing part of the cupcake with silver glitter pen to make it sparkle. I then cut a strip of paper and stamped in the middle. I used my scoring board to make score lines that I folded to make a banner (I learned this on another blog the other day a great idea) and I adhered this with 3D squares. Love this happy little card!

The Food of Love

This page has been on the go for a couple of days. i was looking through my albums and I realised I hadn't scrapbooked our first Valentines day where we cook a special meal for each other. This tradition was started in 2009 with Greg making me a wonderful dinner and we've taken it in turns ever since. So I really wanted to start a Valentines Album and I went back to 2009 and scrapped the wonderful food Greg cooked me. I was struggling a little with my journalling. I'm not a fan of handwriting on pages for me as I like to use my computer but I was tired of the same black and white so my lovely husband saved the day and showed me some tricks with Publisher and I love how my journalling turned out. To start the page I started with some red love paper and used my Cricut Accent Essentials to cut a scalloped circle and regular circle, I used both parts of the circles on the page. For my title I used my design studio to make it go in a funny shape (which I love) and I matted the photos onto white. I used some paper embellishments and gemstones and a chipboard heart.

Valentines cone box

I had some time after my gym and dog walking today and all the washing was done so I headed off to join Greg in the study and went to my craft area but I told him not to look as I was making this for him. I am slowly making all my things for Valentines Day. I made this lovely cone treat box from my new cartridge Victorian Romance. I cut it out at 7.5 inches which was just the right size for some Godiva chocolates (only 3 as we love a treat but not much as we work hard at the gym). So I cut it out in black and then put it together. I used my Accent Essentials cartridge to cut out the scalloped circles and then the Sweethearts cartridge to cut out the tags. I used a stamp set Greg got me for Christmas to stamp Happy ♥ Day. I used my Martha Stewart stamps to stamp a heart on white and cut that out and I added a gem in the middle. I then filled it with treats and tied it together with some red ribbon.

Valentines gift box and tag for my sweetie ♥

I was really excited to get started on my Valentines Day projects. Now that I have my craft room it's much easier for me to start things and finish them when I can. However I had some time today and managed to get a tag and box done for Greg for his Valentines Day gift. I made the box from my Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge out of some great double sided paper I bought a while back. I put some xoxo ribbon around that. For the tag I used my Accent Essentials cartridge to cut that out in white and matted some striped paper on top. I used the same cartridge to cut out the black and red/white dot doily flowers. I then used my new Martha Stewart stamp set I won off Ebay to stamp a red lacey heart onto some white which I cut out. I then used black ink to stamp I ♥ U on top of that. I had some nice ribbon with "to hold dear: Cherish" on it so I used that on top. I love how it turned out, I'm looking forward to giving that to Greg on Feb 14th!

Birthday candles

I started this yesterday and finished it today, it's great because now I have my craft room I can leave things and just do bits and pieces of projects when I have time. I made this for a birthday coming up in February. I made a white card base and then matted some brown dotty paper and some cupcakes paper onto that with ribbon over the top. I cut out a scalloped circle in 2 sizes and also 2 regular circles in different sizes from my Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge. I ran the brown circle through my Cuttlebug and used my Cupcake embossing folder (I love that so cute). I had a Happy Birthday tile so I put that on the two smaller circles. I got some birthday candles at Target yesterfday and thought it would be good on a card. I tied 3 together using some twine and put a bow on top. I do like this card it's very much a birthday card with the candles and cupcakes!

L'amour

I was excited for two reasons today, first to do some scrapbooking in my new crafting area in our study that I share with Greg and two to use a piece of scrapbooking paper I recently bought from Kaisercraft (Aussie company!) and I knew the perfect picture to do the layout. Isn't this paper beautiful? I just love the Eiffel tower and the Parisian look about it. I backed this onto some pink card and made a banner out of circles using my Accent Essentials cartridge which I folded in half and put pink/white bakers twine through it. I used my Cricut Opposites Attract to cut out the white letters. Under the photo I placed a white heart doily which I got in a pack of 20 at Target for $1. I got them for Valentines Day but I have enough that I could use one on this page. I used a heart cardstock sticker from the new line from Basic Grey on top of the Doily. Also from the same sheet the sentiment lining the bottom of the photo and the date tag which I stamped with a date stamp and black ink. I cut out the "Paris" from my Summer in Paris cartridge. I love this page it's got romance in it : )

Amsterdam Canals

I made this one today, I've been looking forward to starting to scrapbook our Europe trip pages and this is the first one. I used 2 different patterned papers and used my Cricut Accent Essentials to cut out the shaped piece. I used some chipboard pieces for the flowers at the top and also some rectangle word plates that I had in my stash as well as the felt flower and heart. I had some nice Making Memories sparkly stickers so I used those for the title. I was going through my stash and found these lovely blue alphabet tiles so I spelt out "Romantic" using those and put that in the middle and used a smile tag and brad from my stash. I used Publisher to type out December 2011. Hope you like it : )

Lace heart anniversary card

This was the other item I made today, an anniversary card for my friend Conny whose 10 anniversary is coming up. It's a beige card with a top fold then chocolate brown card on top. I cut out the scalloped oval on a scrap of nice leaves gold paper with my "Straight from the nest" catridge. I used my "Accent essentials" cartridge to cut out the heart out of a scrap of red/green dotty paper. Then I got my cuttlebug and heart die and cut out the brown card and then a lace heart which I layered on top. I recently learned you can cut lace in the Cuttlebug so I gave it a try and love the look of it. I cut out a font phrase from "Wild cards" and finished off with some black and white gingham ribbon.

Cupcakes at the Cathedral

I made this page this afternoon it's of our trip to St Andrews in Scotland, this one is the ruins of the St Andrews Cathedral. I used some check paper on top of white card and then blue under my photos. I used my "Cricut Accent Essentials" to cut out my circles and scalloped circles and did the journalling on the computer. I had a Cloud 9 die cut with the sentiment on that I thought was perfect for this page. I used my "Straight from the nest" cartridge to cut out the cupcake in layers and I used rub-ons to write cupcakes. I then cut out the rest of my font using the "Calligraphy" cartridge. I finished it with a chipboard button tied with twine and some stickles to decorate my cupcake!

I Wheelie Love you!

I made this card for Greg today for our anniversary coming up in October. I saw the idea of a "stepped" card in my scrapbooks etc magazine I get each month and decided it was perfect for my Greg! I cut the card out at 5.5 inches x 12 inches and then scored lines going down the card to make it into an accordian fold. I then used different papers to decorate each fold. I used my Cricut "Sweethearts" cartridge to cut out the girl on the bike (me!) and also the label. I printed "I Wheelie love you" on the computer and cut it into the label shape to layer onto the black label. I then had a "with all my heart" in my stash that was cut from a 12 x 12 sheet of paper which I layered onto a scalloped circle using my Cricut "Accent Essentials". I then went back to "Sweethearts" and cut out the flower and also the tag which is hidden in the card, it gets pulled out by the ribbon. I am so happy with how this turned out and Greg is going to be so surprised, I wish I could give it to him sooner but I'll give the card to him when we're on holiday in Mexico on our anniversary.

Wishes

I made an envelope today on my Cricut, it was originally to fit the card I made for Greg but It turned out too small so rather than waste the envelope I made a cute little card to fit it. It's so cute I love the way it came out. I used a plain white card cut out on the Cricut. I then matted with the lime green paper and cut out some scalloped squares from my "Cricut Accent Essentials" cartridge in both white and a lovely blue floral print. I then cut out a circle in orange. I used my "Songbird" cartridge to cut out the sweet little fence and bird and layered a bluebird on top of that. I tied around some ribbon and put in a pin I made with some beads and finished with a little epoxy sentiment I had in my stash. I'm glad I decided to make this one and re-use the envelope!

Friends always

I made this card for my friend Claudy this afternoon who is really stressed and exhausted at the moment with lots of different things so I decided to make her a card. I think a palm tree is a nice relaxing image (I look forward to looking at lots of those in Cooya Beach in the near future!). So I cut my card from my "Wild Cards" cartridge which had the ready made circle at the front. I then used the blackout feature to cut the brown and cream liners for inside the card. I used my "Life's a beach" cartridge to cut out the palm tree. I then went back to "Wild Cards" to cut out the phrases. Finally I used my "Cricut Accent Essentials" to cut out the scalloped circle for around the circle. I really like how you get a small glimpse of the palm tree through the front until you open it and see the whole thing! I"m looking forward to sending this to her : )

Big Boys Don't Cry

I started this page last week and as we were out and about over the weekend and the first couple of days this week I only got to finish it this morning but I'm really loving this page. It's of my lovely husband Greg when he was just a little boy. For some reason I just love this photo, perhaps it's his cute little face, awww I just want to cuddle him (he is the little boy on the bottom left). This photo shows him at a birthday party. I did ask Greg's mum why he looks like he's going to cry and perhaps it was because he didn't want his mummy to leave him awww!!! Anyway so as the photo was originally in black and white it made it very easy for me to use any colours, so I chose bright party colours. Green cardstock and some patterned paper cut into circles using Cricut Accent Essentials. I used my "Cuttin Up" cartridge to cut the font and "Lets Party" and then "Sweet Treats" to cut the little cupcake and party hat. I used "Cricut Sampler" to cut the bookplate and printed the journalling on my comptuter finished with some star brads. I finished it with a border from my stash. Greg loved this page too, this will be one I continue to look at, I love it!

Poolside

I printed these photos out last week and only got around to doing them today as been busy and I realised that after finishing our St Lucia photos that I still had Mexico ones I hadn't scrapbooked so here is a page on Puerto Vallarta in Mexico at the lovely resort we stayed at where the pool was beautiful and big. We were there every day and enjoyed it a lot, it was so relaxing and lovely. I used blue cardstock for the pool feel and used my Cricut "Storybook" cartridge to cut out the scalloped flip flops paper. I then matted the photos onto that and cut out a label also on the "Storybook" cartridge and used Rub ons to spell out Poolside. I used "Life's a beach" to cut out the bamboo tree and "Accent Essentials" for the scalloped circles and arrow. I also used "Life's a beach" to cut out Teeny Bikini. I had some stickers and some brads to use so they went on as well as some rhinestones to decorate the bikini. I love this page, good memories and I love anything to do with a pool or a holiday so a very happy page! : )

Together Forever

I realised I still have more photos of our renewal of vows ceremony to do which is good as I love scrapping these, I love anything to do with love, weddings, hearts etc, especially when it involves us! I was so excited because I got to use my new Cricut Expression and it is amazing. My background paper is perfect because I think it resembles the sand. I found some pretty blue floral paper which I used my "Accent Essentials" cartridge to cut out the fancy shape behind the photos. I used my "Jasmine" cartridge to cut out the font and again the "Accent Essentials" to cut out the cute little heart clip on the top left. I love tropical flowers and wanted to pick up the flowers in my beautiful bouquet so I used my "Accent Essentials" and "Life's a beach" cartridge to cut out these, I really enjoyed cutting out all my pieces and making this page. Such wonderful memories of one of the best days of my life! Making this page definitely took me back to St Lucia ♥
