Sausalito

Hello I have decided to continue on with my California scrapbooking as before I know it, I will have photos from our upcoming trip this year so I want to try to get these done. This one was of a lovely morning we spent in Sausalito which is just over the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. So I had a little bit of time late this afternoon and put this page together, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I used some blue cardstock that was already embossed with little flowers. Then I added some strips of bright dot paper along the top and bottom. I also added pre-cut border strips that I had sitting in my stash for a while. I used the Opposites Attract cartridge in the Cricut Craft Room for the title and my lovely husband suggested making every second letter a different color so I tried it and loved it. For the journaling I used the Artiste cartridge to cut out the pink journaling block and added the journaling from Publisher. I cut out a cute little ice cream from the Sweet Treats Cartridge and added "sprinkles" which are pink gemstones. To finish I added some Crochet Flowers, a wooden flower button and a heart sticker.

Bunnies peeking through a hole!

Hello final post of the day, these are 2 Easter Cards I made for our parents, I saw this idea on Pinterest and I had to try it as it is so cute. I used the Cricut Craft room to make my card bases as I added the circle aperture in the middle. The bunnies are cut in various shapes (circles and ovals mostly). I did ink around the edges in light pink to add a bit of dimension. For the cute little cotton tail I added some liquid appliqué and puffed it up with my heat gun. For the eyes I punched some black circles with my hole punch and then drew on some whiskers. I stamped on the front. I think my hippity hoppity bunnies are so cute and I know our parents will love them!

Mothers Day cards

Hi again this will be my second post of the day I made 2 Mothers Day cards as well over the weekend, I'm being organized with my cards so I can get on with scrapbooking! for the first one I cut the card in lilac from Art Philosophy, I added a blue scalloped circle and a smaller gingham one. I cut the handbag from Kate's ABC cartridge I love this cartridge and they have some great images on there. I cut the bag in layers and added a red heart sticker (thank you to my friend Jayne in the UK who sent me these they are lovely) and it added the finishing touch. I stamped on the bottom. For the second card I cut a square scalloped card in pink and added a floral layer. I used the April Showers cartridge which is free on the Cricut Craft room at the moment to cut the cute little flower and pot, i had to cut it a couple of times in different colours, I added a  pink button for the flower centre. I stamped inside the card. Thanks for looking!

Happy Easter

Hello everyone, Happy Tuesday well it's almost gone now but anyhow, we are lucky in Chicago today we had 17 degrees Celsius, which is pretty good for January, it was raining but at least I didn't need a coat today, however sadly it's not to last as winter is apparently coming back but it was nice to see!
So this afternoon I had some time and made this Easter card, it turned out very cute. I wanted to be able to use the Easter 2010 cartridge that is free in the Cricut Craft room until Jan 31 so I decided to get it done today. I cut the border from Art Philosophy and the eggs from the Easter 2010. I decorated the eggs with ric rac trim and flower stickers and stamped Happy Easter. I ran the blue background through my Cuttlebug. Thanks for looking : )

Easter card for hubby

Good morning, I made this card yesterday for Greg for Easter. It was nice to think of Easter as that means Spring and then comes summer and lovely weather to come! I noticed in the Cricut Craft Room until January 31 they have given you free use of 3 cartridges, one of them was the Easter 2010 one which I have wanted for ages but it's gone rare now and it's very expensive so it's good to be able to use it for a bit for some cards. I decided to make my lovely hubby Greg a card. I used the Wild Card cartridge to make the card I like the different gate fold shape. I added a square of plaid paper and then used the Easter cartridge to cut the pink circle and the cute chicks. I embossed the folder with my dots folder through my Cuttlebug. I added some ribbon bows to the chicks and used rub ons for my greeting along with a pink bow to tie it together to finish.

Valentines Day Dishcloth

Hi, I finished my dishcloth this afternoon, I tried a pattern for Valentines Day and it turned out great. Greg loved it too. I've knitted a couple of plain dishcloths before and they have turned out great an they work really well in the kitchen too so I decided to do a Valentines one. I'm pretty happy for my first attempt at following a pattern. Have a nice Monday!

Christmas Dinner

Hello Happy Monday I finished this page this morning, I loved this paper I had in a paper pad pack so I wanted to use it for a single photo layout of my darling Greg and I eating our Christmas lunch. The paper was so cute it didn't need a lot more embellishments so I just matted the photo on some red card then used some Washi tape strips underneath. I got these from Michaels on the weekend they were in the Christmas clearance section for only 79 cents which was a bargain and they can be used on many things not just Christmas. I cut the font from my Holiday Frames and Tags cartridge in the craft room then used a sticky die cut and one of the cute flags my blogging friend Kathy sent me to finish. Have a nice day!

Christmas 2012

Hello I have another Christmas layout to share today, I really like this photo of Greg and I and I think it works well in this grid layout, it took a little while to do but it's well worth it. All the squares were cut on my Cricut from the Craft Room basics as well as the large rectangle underneath he photo. The font I cut from the Don Juan font on the Cricut Craft Room.  Most of the other cuts are from my Cricut. I did use however on the top right the rosette I originally used on my cutlery holders for our Christmas table and on the bottom left a tag I used on one of Greg's gift, I love to try to incorporate items that I have used before to keep as keepsakes. A lovely page, hope you enjoyed looking at it : )

The Next Great Baker

Hello I've got a scrapbook page for you today, this is the first chance I've had to do any this year so I was really pleased to be able to do this page. I also love this page as I absolutely love the photos in it of Greg and his fabulous Christmas cake he made this year. I got a bargain on the weekend at Michaels they had a lot of their Christmas 12 x 12 paper pads reduced and I got one from Me and My Big Ideas reduced from $19 to only $4 so I had to get that, so the green spotted paper as the base for this page is from that pack. I then cut a strip of paper from another pad I had from last year and it was perfect as the words were ideal for this page. I used my Cricut Craft Room to cut out the fancy shape from Art Philosophy in red and a smaller one in red dot. This week on Cricut Craft room they are letting you use the "Don Juan" font for free which is a really good one and has about 4 different ones so I used this to cut the title. I cut the Baker in green and the rest in a striped paper. I went through my button stash as I just knew I had the rolling pin button and knew it had to go on this page for my very talented hubby and his baking : ). I tied some green twine through that. I added a heart button, a Snowman xing button, a Santa, xmas tree and snowflakes to decorate the page so I used a good amount of my xmas buttons. I added some other tiny stickers to finish and a journaling strip.

Valentines card for my dear Greg

Hello everyone, Happy 2013! This is my first post in a while and the first one of the new year as Greg was on vacation from Christmas eve till yesterday so I was enjoying spending time with him over Christmas and new year so last night and today I made his Valentines Day card which I realised is only 6 weeks away! I am really happy with how my card turned out. This was the first time I have tried a pop up card so I used my Cricut Artiste Cartridge to cut out both the card and the pop up insert at 5 inches. I used red for the card and a tartan plaid for the insert. For the front I layered black and then red which I put through my Cuttlebug dots folder. I cut out another smaller square of patterned paper to go on that. I cut the heart out at 3.25 inches from Artiste from another plaid paper. I used a stamp from a set I bought from Verve Stamps last year, I saw this particular saying and I knew it would be perfect for Greg's card, I just love the saying and it's very true for me with Greg. So I stamped this on some pink and cut around it with my fancy scissors my mum and dad got me for xmas. I had a precut little banner from a sheet from Pebbles Inc that I got ages ago so I cut this out and used rub-ons for the "my valentine". I added 2 small heart buttons. For the inside I added a strip of ribbon with cute little love birds on it and used the same stamp set to stamp the greeting. I know Greg will love this card and we love Valentines Day so I'm looking forward to giving it to him!
