A thank you card and a sweet treat this morning

Hello Happy Sunday, we've had a lovely weekend, today we started with a lovely breakfast, I made Red Velvet Pancakes and Greg made this amazing white chocolate sauce with added protein it tasted amazing and he did such a great job of decorating, he's the best and I love him heaps! We had a lovely day and spent a couple of hours laying in the sun by the lake then we came home and went out for a walk to get a frozen yogurt, I'm about to make a healthy bbq chicken flatbread for dinner so a nice end to a summer's day but every day is perfect when I'm with Greg.

The second photo is a thank you card i made for my Aunt and Uncle in the U.K, we will be staying with them in October for a few days before we head to Italy and we will be giving them a gift to say thanks for looking after us and I made a card to go with it. I used my Cricut Explore it cut out the detailed cuts so nicely. Thanks for looking, have a nice week.

40 and Fabulous

Hello Happy Thursday, only one more day and the weekend which will be nice and only a few weeks now till our holiday very much looking forward to going to a nice resort and enjoying some stress free time together!

I made this card for a lovely lady I follow on YouTube, her name is Gloria and she lives in Florida, she makes a lot of cards mostly Cricut and now she got the Cricut Explore as well. I watch her videos from time to time and she has some great ideas. She is always so sunny and happy and is such a kind lady who does such generous giveaways which I was lucky enough to win a while ago. I asked her for her birthday so I could make her a card as nice to spread some joy and being a cardmaker herself she appreciates it. She told me she is going to be 40 in July so I made her a special 40 and Fabulous card. I designed the card on my Explore, the cuts are taken from various cartridges. For the cupcake I added some Perfect Pearls to the "icing" to make it shimmery and some Glossy accents to the cherry to make it all shiny. I wrote with my Cricut and marker on the front of the card and in the inside for the greeting. I'm looking forward to sending Gloria her card and maybe a little surprise that will fit in the envelope as you are only 40 once!! : ) Thanks for looking today.

Wavin Hello

Hello thought I would share a card I made today for my friend Christina, we swap a card a month and each month we take it in turns choosing a theme. It was Christina's turn this month so she gave me the choice of a beach theme, dolphin theme or a black and white theme. So I decided as it was summer to combine the beach and dolphin theme together. This turned out really cute. I designed it on my Cricut Explore. I started with a premade DCWV blue card then I used one of the cards from "Life's a Beach", except I cut the other half of the card off and just used the front. The card had a palm tree already attached and I just cut out the other layers. The waves are also from "Life's a Beach" and I inked on the edge of this using blue Distress Ink. The Circle is cut from "Simply Sweet", I used my Cricut to write the greeting and I accented the stitching around the tag with the same pen I wrote with. The Dolphin is cut from "When I was a kid". I added some Perfect Pearls powder to add a bit of glitz to the sand at the bottom of the tree and the coconuts. I'm going to enter this into the summer challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2 here.

Birdie banner birthday card

Hello hope everyone is well and happy, all is well here : ). I am making my birthday cards up until the end of the year probably so I can then do some scrap booking (no doubt soon I will have some lovely Dominican Republic photos to scrap and more pages from Miss Ivy's album) and make some gifts too, so this one is for my friend Claudy whose birthday is in September. I made her the bird felt purse last week so I decided to continue the bird theme on her card. This one turned out so nice I love it. The card is from the Anna Griffin Summer Soiree cartridge which is lovely, I bought it digital, I have a $50 gift card that came with my new Cricut Explore to use on cricut.com so I used some of it to buy that. The card is so pretty with the flower cut outs. I used Artiste to cut out the banners, one in black, one in white. The cute little bird and his banner are from Birthday Bash and I stamped using Versamark ink then embossed with white powder. I added a white pom pom to the top of the birds party hat. Thanks for looking today.

Eyeglasses case

Hello Happy Friday I'm looking forward to the weekend, brunch out tomorrow with hubby which will be nice and hot weather.

I made this eyeglasses case for my mom for her birthday, I made the whole thing from scratch. I found a pattern online and traced it onto felt and cut it out and then blanket stitched the whole thing together. I added a zebra print button and a velcro dot underneath for the closure. I cut my cute cat out on my Cricut Explore from The First Few Years cartridge. It turned out really cute.

Thanks for looking & have a nice weekend.

yes...it's another....felt purse and a favourite photo

Hello everyone, guess what I have something different for you..not not really it's another felt purse, can you tell I'm enjoying decorating them with my fabulous Cricut Explore and some fun felt? lol. I hope I can still keep getting these "Feltables" they seem to be getting discontinued but I'm in the middle of making something else by hand as I couldn't find it, so if all else fails just make it yourself. I'm very into handmade now, even more so than before, handmade body care, cleaning and gifts, it's very satisfying and I like to put the effort into doing handmade and if it's cleaning and body care better for us as I want to make it to my 60th (or longer!) wedding anniversary, so every bit counts!

Anyway I used the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge for this little birdie to go on the pink purse, isn't he cute, the Cricut cut him out nicely and it all ironed well together with the fusing. I hot glued it though onto the case for extra adhering. I added a blue wobbly eye too. I made the tag on my Cricut too.

For the Hello Kitty purse I made earlier this week I made some lip balms, all natural again and a nice gift to go in the purse. I might put some in here too.

Now underneath is a gorgeous photo, this was taken this week of my lovely husband and the most gorgeous dog in the world, seriously she is, she is Ivy the wonder dog, we love her to pieces, she is our BFF! I love this one of her and Greg, she loves to play in the grass with us and have fun, great dog. What we love about her is that she is genuine and loves us for us, not what we've got, how much money we have, what clothes we are wearing, how many possessions we have or what job we do, if only more people were like that, but we're so glad we know Ivy.

Hello Kitty mini purse

Hello Happy Tuesday it's verrrrry windy here today and stormy but it's humid and warm so not complaining we can still go outside in a tshirt and shorts we just might get blown away is all : )

I decorated another felt purse last night I was so pleased with this one, you could use this for make up or a phone or even craft items. I am always amazed by my Cricut Explore and what it can do (thanks lovely hubby for the amazing birthday gift). This is to go with the Hello Kitty birthday card I made for my friend Christina last week who is a Hello Kitty fan, so I decorated this one in that theme. I used the rainbow from Create a Critter and cut it out in felt in 4 different colors. I then found another free SVG cut file for the Hello Kitty face and cut this out. The bow was fiddly but still ok, I decorated her bow and some of the rainbow with gemstones. So cute isn't it? I really love being able to cut felt, It makes it so simple with the addition of the iron on transfer sheets. Thanks for looking and have a nice day.

a new idea with the Cricut Explore

Another post today, this afternoon I tried out something new, it's not totally new with my Cricut but the project is. I was looking at felt in Joann's on Saturday mostly for my mug hugs but then Greg called me over and showed me these things called "Feltables" which are purses, phone cozies etc and you can customise them with different things. At Joann's they had little felt things to glue onto them but I can cut felt with my Cricut so I cut out a little owl isn't he cute? and put some orange googly eyes on him and also some flowers. The Cricut cuts felt fairly well, all you need to do is put some heat bond iron on transfer on the back. I then ironed everything onto the purse, I'm really happy with this, turned out lovely. Thanks for looking today.

Flowerpot Easel Card

Hello from a nice sunny hot Chicago, looking forward to going to the lake later with my lovely husband and best dog in the world, I think we will all enjoy being together down there.

I made this card on the weekend, it's for my Aunty Julie's birthday coming up in September she loves my cards so I thought she would like this as she likes flowers and gardening. I bought the SVG cut file online for only $1 it was a bargain so I'm glad I got it. It was easy to use in the Cricut Design Space, it just took some working out for the colors but it turned out lovely. I cut an extra square in green and embossed it in my Cuttlebug. I stamped on some yellow patterned paper on the back to which I will write my message there. I also stamped my Happy Birthday message on the front. Thanks for looking today, have a nice day.

Snowman mug hug, my own design : )

Hello I forgot one more post before I go today, I finished this other mug hug tonight. Although the last thing I want to think about is winter as it's summer here and lovely it's nice to make these mug hugs to keep drinks hot and cozy. This time I put my own spin on it and used the iron on fusible adhesive to adhere the felt and some Christmas fabric together. I cut them with pinking shears to stop fraying so this time I didn't do any blanket stitch. I ended up getting some more felt today from Michaels and also some white ink that works on fabric. I stamped Happy Winter and some snowflakes along the dark blue felt. I had some Let it Snow ribbon in my stash,I think this one looks even better with the cute snowman fabric but I'm still practicing. Thanks for looking.

Hello Kitty Card

Hello a quick post from me this evening before I go and drink my sleep tea and go to bed. I made this very cute Hello Kitty card for my friend Christina who loves Hello Kitty. It's her birthday in August so I decided to do this now as I'll need to post her a little gift and this card before we go on our trip.

I started with a DCWV pre made pink card and then another layer of light pink that had a nice scalloped edge at the bottom and a grey spotted strip. I did everything in the Design Space for my Cricut Explore. I added some crochet ribbon which Christina actually had sent me for my birthday. I added some cute bow buttons I found in my box (to which I cut off the shanks or rather my lovely husband did). I cut a label from Lacy Labels and used my pens in my Cricut to write my own greeting. Now for the best part. I haven't got the Hello Kitty cartridge and I checked Cricut who said it's not available and also some other places, one place said it was $300 for the cartridge, no way am I paying that and there is no access to it in the Design Space so I typed free Hello Kitty SVG file into Google and I found this, so I was so happy as I could upload it to the Cricut, didn't it turn out cute? There were lots of layers to cut but it was worth it and I know Christina will like her birthday card.

Felt Mug Hugs

Hello from rainy Chicago but the good news is summer will be back towards the end of this week. I saw a tutorial on YouTube this morning on how to make these lovely little mug hugs from felt and also how to stamp on felt so I thought I would try it. This one is just a test piece as I need to practice my blanket stitch a bit but I don't do anything to be judged it's all fun and I will perfect it before I maybe make them for gifts. It was very easy to do and stamping on felt is good, you just need an ink pad that is good to stamp on fabric such as StazOn and then you dry it for a bit with a heat gun to make sure it's set before you colour in with your markers. I used 2 different Hero Arts stamp sets for this, one was for the snowman, one was for the sentiment. After stamping the snowman and coloring him I cut him out by hand. The tree was actually cut on my Cricut, but first I ironed on some fusible paper to stiffen it and so I could use it on my Cricut. I decorated with some sequins on one tree. I want to make some more now but am out of felt so if it's not raining tomorrow evening or the next day we'll go to Michaels so I can get some more. Thanks for looking.

Cupcake card

Hello I am glad I can put this card on my blog to show you, we've been having internet problems, we may be getting our Internet provider to come out Monday and look at our modem so far it's ok but the email is having issues and it's slow so we'll see.

Anyway I made this cupcake card on my Cricut Explore, I welded 2 cupcake shapes together to make a card, it turned out very cute. The cupcake is from Birthday Bash. I stamped on the front and then used some glossy accents to make the cherry all shiny, thanks for looking, have a nice weekend.

P.S going to enter this into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge this week too : )

Red Sox Bookmark for Greg

Hello I have a cute bookmark to show you today, I made this for Greg as he loves the Red Sox. It turned out cute and he loved it. I used the Explore and resized my rectangle in the design space, I think it was from Art Philosophy. I wrote with my pens on the Explore and then used Create a Friend to cut out the Baseball player and then the Red Sox was found on the internet as a free SVG file (that's pretty good!). I added a bit of black glossy accents for the eyes on the player. I gave this to Greg with a book about one of the Red Sox players as a little surprise gift to take on our holiday in July, maybe he can read it by the pool and use his new bookmark to keep his place : )

Hubby birthday page

Hi everyone, happy Wednesday, it's raining here today - boo hoo but it's going to stop soon and we're in for another lovely sunny end to the week and weekend Mr weatherman says!

I have had this page on the go for a few days and it's finished now, I've been a busy bee but I am proud of what I've achieved this week with everything so far so here is my finished page at last!

I made a page on Greg's birthday this year, I made him a cake and he loved it so my work was done in making him smile : ).

I started with red spotty card stock then another spotty later in brown. I used my Cricut Explore (of course!). I can't remember which cartridge the journalling tag was from but I was so happy that my fine tip marker could write it in the Cricut it came out great, I love that I can do that. The Birthday Boy saying was from Storybook and the banner from Artbooking. I used a little flair badge from my stash that reads Happy Birthday and for the big title for the page (I love this title it so suits my Greg) I bought it as an SVG file from the Lori Whitlock shop it was only $1.50 and I got another title for this as well so I was happy with that.

Thanks for looking today have a nice day!
