Kiss the Cook

I've been working on this over a few days, I got it finished this afternoon. I'm exhausted today I did a big workout at the gym with Greg ♥ and I had 5 dogs to walk today and Ruby later playing footy in the park with her and Greg, she loves it! So I'm glad to be able to fit a bit in now before getting dinner and doing some washing, and I've been looking forward to finishing this one. It's of Valentines Day 2010 when It was my turn to cook and I made Greg a lovely breakfast and then dinner. Greg had injured his knee badly that year so it was lovely to spoil him!
So I used Red cardstock and then some striped paper and I found a very cute cooking paper at Michaels for only 29 cents on the weekend - bargain and I knew it was perfect for this, so that went on the bottom. I used the Cricut Craft room and Cuttin Up and Serenade for the title. I used the vase from Serenade and the great thing about the craft room is that you can use different cartridges together. I cut a piece of green wire and added a paper flower. I cut the mug out of Joys of the season and put the heart through my Xyron and then added glitter. I added computer journalling and then some pieces of ribbon at the top right with brads.

Valentines Dachshunds

I've been working on this one over a few days as it took me a while to get things just how I wanted them but I'm really happy with the end result! : ). I originally started with a square card but then I couldn't fit in the dogs and the tree so I've decided to use the square card for possibly another Valentines for Greg. He told me the other day when we went shopping that he has got 2 cards for me as he couldn't decide lol, so I think he might get 2 as well, what the heck and spoil him as I love him lots. Ok so this card was a long card in white then matted with red and a kraft brown colour. I used some fancy scissors to cut out the blue sky and got a piece of green paper and cut snips in it to resemble grass. I then had a cloud die cut from a scrapbooking sheet so that was just right for the sky and onto that I layered I ♥ U. I used my Cuttin Up catridge for the I and U and used a large heart punch for the heart. I also used the same punch for the heart between the dogs and glued them together to create a 3D heart. I used my Paisley cartridge to cut out the gorgeous little Dachshunds which I then decorated. The boy dog has a blingy collar with rhinestones and the girl a flower sticker and a bit of silvery twine for her collar. I cut the tree from my Serenade cartridge and used some little flower beads on that. I finished with some green and white bakers twine around the bottom. I love this and I know Greg will too : )

Thinking of you card

Since Friday afternoon was a bit stormy I decided to make a card for my Aunty Susan who is going through treatment for cancer right now so I thought a card might cheer her up. I made a thinking of you card. I got a lovely pad of card sized papers the other week at Joann's and I did like this one which had branches and leaves it. So I layered that onto white card and then a maroon coloured card. I used my Cricut "Serenade" cartridge to cut out the little branch, leaves and cute little birdcage with bird and finished that with a little rhinestone. Then I stamped my greeting and cut that out and tied it around with some bakers twine. I'll post it tomorrow, hope she likes it!
