San Francisco

I've been pretty busy today with gym, dog walking and then household things but I did manage to squeeze in an hour of scrapbooking. tomorow is my birthday and I'm so excited, my hubby tells me that he's going to spoil me and he's making a fabulous cake. My boy is not well with a cold at the moment yet he still wants to make my day special, I'm extremely lucky to have such a lovely husband. Anyway, luckily this page was on teh quick side to do as the paper does a lot of the work and so does the photo. This is of Greg and I and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. I saved this paper for this photo and I think it turned out well. I cut a tag from my Art Philosophy cartridge and did my journaling on the computer I put some ribbon through it and tied a knot. I added various stickers and buttons as well as a cute stick pin. For the You and Me embellishment I am proud to say I learned a new technique using my Watercolours. Greg bought me Watercolour pencils and blocks for Christmas and I saw a YouTube video on using them this way like an Ombre look. I bought some special watercolour paper and it worked well. I die cut a tag with my Spellbinders nestabilities then stamped You and Me on it in Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder and heat dry. I then used my paintbursh and watercolour blocks and painted oranges, yellows, reds and pinks on it and let it dry overnight, it turned out quite well for my first go with them. Hope you like my page!

Buzz Astro Blasters

I had some time this afternoon to do another page on Disneyland so I did this one on Greg and his favourite ride at Disneyland the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. I used some green card and star patterned paper. I used the Cricut Craft Room and my Cuttin Up cartridge to cut out the font. I cut some stars from my Accent Essentials cartridge and put those along the top and did a strip of journaling over the top. I bought some Buzz Stickers for this page as I didn't have anything like this on my Cricut so I used that for part of the title and the Buzz character.

Feel better soon card

Hello hope your day is going well, we had a beautiful Spring day yesterday it was lovely to enjoy it and go for a walk with Greg. Today it's raining but we do have some sun coming later in the week maybe I'll get a sunny day for my birthday : )
I made this card for Greg, he has had a bad throat the past couple of days and a bit of a cold so because I love him sooooo much I thought I'd make him a card. I made him a little tissue box card, I already had a blue card made so I put another blue layer on it and used my Cricut to cut a 3" square. I got a round hole punch and half cut a circle in the top. I recycled some brown ribbon I got from a box of chocolates recently and tied that around. I cut a tissue in half and placed it behind the square and popped the square on 3D dots. I stamped down the bottom. I left the card for Greg whilst i went and walked the dogs and when I came back I got a big hug : )

Hearst Castle

Hello everyone I have another scrapbook page today from California, I wish we were in sunny California now soaking up some rays but we will be in August and hopefully before that we will have a really good summer! So onto today's page, this one is of Hearst Castle, a very non traditional castle however it definitely was a "California Style" castle with the palm trees all around it and the Spanish style of it. The photos really speak for themselves so the page was very simple as far as embellishing goes. I cut the title from my Kate's ABC cartridge and welded it in the Cricut Craft Room. I put the photos on some sparkle spotty paper an did my journaling on the computer. Hope you enjoy looking at my page!

Quick birthday card

Here is a quick card I made from scraps lying around my craft desk. I'd already cut out the card and layers so I put the blue layer through my Cuttlebug with a Sizzix embossing folder for the Happy Birthday. All the other bits are scraps from my box. I put a spotty border and then used my Cricut to cut some of the circles, I already had a couple cut out on my desk. I used my Kate's ABC's cartridge to cut out the flowers and then added a pearl to finish. A quick one but a goodie and I used up some scraps to create a pretty birthday card.

Mickey Mouse page

Hello happy Tuesday! I've got a page for you today on our trip to Disneyland last August. I love the "Keep Calm" stuff and I found this one about Mickey Mouse on Pinterest and It inspired me to do a page on Disneyland and Mickey and who doesn't love Mickey Mouse I know I do! I started with red cardstock and then added some Mickey print paper, I think I found the perfect use for it here. My page came together really quickly as I had some embellishments I bought especially for this and Greg also got some for me when he was away last. I used some Jolee's stickers on the page including the title. The "Oh happy day" one is from a sheet I have lying around from 3 Bugs in a Rug, it was perfect as Disneyland is the happiest place on earth and we certainly had a good day with Mickey!

Yosemite National park

Hello happy Friday, here is a page I started this week and finished this afternoon on Yosemite National Park in California. I had the perfect piece of paper in my stash with "The Great Outdoors" on it so I used this for my background paper. I added a brown border. I used my Don Juan cartridge for the title and for the deer and the "Treasure Nature" saying I used my Give a Hoot Cartridge, this was a good cartridge for this as it had a lot of nature things on it. I cut a scalloped circle from Art Philosophy and did some journaling on the computer. I added  as stick pin to finish. Hope you like my page!

Birthday card for Greg

Hello I made this card this afternoon for Greg for his upcoming birthday. He loves the Angry Birds game and  I decided to make him a card of one of the "Bad Piggies". I got him a Bad Piggy bank for Christmas and he loves it, it sits on his desk so as this appears to be his favourite I thought I would make the card in this theme. I used the Cricut Craft Room to do all of this card as it was much easier to cut out all the shapes. It's mainly just circles and ovals all put together. I cut out the crown too and stamped Happy Birthday. I added some glitter to the top of the crown. I really think it turned out great and I know Greg will love it!

Simple cards

Hello I've got a second post for today I made these two simple cards this afternoon and I'm really pleased with them. On the Cricut Craft room this week they are letting you use the Simple Cards cartridge for free so I thought I would try it and I do like it. I made the first card for my Dad for Fathers Day, I love the hexagon cut outs. For the "No 1 Dad" that wasn't from this cartridge though, this was from Celebrate with Flourish, my lovely Greg bought me this as an Easter gift and I love it. The second card is for my friend Elaine in the UK her birthday is coming up soon so I needed a card that could be mailed easily, I really liked this one and cut both layers from the Simple Cards cartridge. I put some red cardstock behind the "For you" to make it stand out against the dot paper a bit. I added a flower sticker and stamped Happy Birthday inside. Hope you have a nice weekend : )

Knitting thanks

Hello Happy Friday, it's been ages again since I put anything on here I've just been too busy to do much of my crafting but that's ok as it makes it more fun when you do get to do it! I made this card for my friend Conny, she very kindly made some YouTube video's to help me learn how to knit something, she went to so much trouble that I had to make her a special card to say thank you as it's very rare to find such a kind hearted person these days so it's nice to say thank you.

I made a red card and added some layers. For the black layer I embossed with with my Cuttlebug. I really wanted to make Conny a card to do with knitting so I found a great digital image online and printed it on white cardstock and coloured with my pens. I cut this out with my Cuttlebug too and matted this onto a scrap of brown dot paper. I used my Don Juan cartridge to cut out the Thanks sentiment. Hope you liked it, have a nice weekend!
