Happy Spring

This is one I made this afternoon/evening. It's turned out really sweet. I used a lemon card and then matted some lemon and white paper on top. I tied a green gingham bow around the top. My sweet husband Greg is into his Cricut cake cartridges and I'm lucky they can be used on my machine too and he's so sweet he shares them with me ♥. So I used the Everyday Sampler cartridge to make the grass and the Holiday Cakes cartridge to make the cute spotty bunny. I cut out the stems for the flowers from Walk In My Garden. I found 2 stamp sets at Michaels on the weekend on clearance for $3.99 and they were really nice so I used them on this card. The flowers I stamped separately then the stamp set also had little circle greetings in them so I stamped them in the middle of the flowers, I was really happy with that as I am getting more confident with my stamping and love it. I coloured them and finished the card. This is for a friend of mine Conny and I know she will love this as she enjoys my cards : )

You're Egg-straordinary

I made this card this afternoon for my sweetie Greg for Easter, it's turned out so cute, I love it and I know he will. Sorry about the picture it's going dark here now and this was the best I could get in the light but you can see it ok I think. I made an oval shaped card from my Wild Cards cartridge, this is cute for Easter to look like an egg. I made that in blue and layered on some purple and green dot. I love all the colours of Easter. They remind me of Spring here and that is good as we've had enough of winter (up to 15 degrees tomorrow though so that's good!). I cut out 2 hearts from my George and Basic Shapes cartridge both in blue and a blue dot. Now is the fun part. I got some lovely stamps recently and I just loved this little bunny he's lovely. So I stamped him and coloured him in, I decided to leave him white as the brown was a bit heavy for an Easter Bunny. I also stamped a sentiment from that set down the bottom. I stamped some little eggs and a carrot and cut them out and coloured them in. I put everything on 3D squares and finished some ribbon. I did some accenting with my glitter pen on the bunny and eggs to make it sparkle. Hope you like my cute bunny card : )

Mothers Day Card

Hello everyone I made this card today, I'm not feeling too well at the moment, I had a terrible migraine yesterday and feel like I've got a virus or something but I think If I keep busy with things It will help, so I thought I would make my mum a Mothers Day card. I also wanted to enter the challenge over at the Fantabulous Cricut Blog - Challenge Me Monday #100 which required you to make a card using Purple, Turquoise and Green so I thought I would make the card in those colors. You can take a look at the challenge here:

http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/2012/02/challenge-me-monday-100.html

I started with a black card and then layered on some patterned blue paper. I used my Storybook cartridge to cut out the ovals one was 3" the other was 3.25". I cut one in blingy turquoise card and the other in purple card. I then used my Walk in My Garden cartridge to cut out the flowerpot, I tied a white bow around that. I then used my Mothers Day cartridge to cut out the flowers. I cut these out in green and then cut off the flower heads and cut them out again in 2 shades of pink and attached those. I put the flower pot & flowers on 3D foam squares and added pink rhinestones for the flower centers. I stamped Happy Mothers Day along the bottom. Hope you like my card : )

Easter Treat Boxes

Hello everyone, I've been working on these boxes for a good few days - very cute little Easter Treat Boxes for special people (can't say who, but the Easter Bunny knows : )..I love all the nice colours of Easter and was pleased to be able to make these cute boxes using some nice Easter card I had. I used Sweet Tooth Boxes to make the boxes. Then I decided I wanted to cut out a bunny head out of the side, so I did this in the Cricut Craft room and put acetate behind it, so cute. I filled the boxes with treats and then made my tags and decorated them using my Cricut and some Easter Stamps I got recently. I was at Michaels yesterday and found some cute little glitter eggs and ribbons so I got those and finished the boxes off nicely with those.

Happy Birthday balloons

I finished this card this afternoon for my penpal Kia, I'm sure she will like this for her birthday coming up! I'm also going to enter it into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge (Challenge Me Monday #99) this week! and the Cardz TV anything goes challenge

http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/2012/02/challenge-me-monday-99.html
http://cardztv.blogspot.com/2012/02/cardz-tv-design-team-challenge-6.html

I cut the card from Wild Cards, I like the circle scalloped shape. I then cut a striped circle and also an orange one but cut some of the orange off for the bottom. I ran that through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss dots folder. I used the Celebrations cartridge to cut out the balloons and used my Peachy Keen face stamps to stamp on the cute little faces. I added twine for the balloon strings and some really nice striped ribbon across the join and also as a tie around the twine. I used a Hero Arts set of stamps I've had for ages to stamp the greeting and used some white gel pen to accent the eyes and make faux stitching on the balloons.

My Tweetheart

I finished this page today, I've been working on it over a few days when I've had some time. My lovely Greg saw an idea on a catalogue page and thought it might work for a scrapbook page, it's amazing where you can get inspiration from. In the catalogue it was a little bird holding up a strap on a handbag, it looked like he was flying with the handbag. So I did mine with a frame idea, like the bird is flying with the frame. It turned out quite well. These aren't traditional Valentines Day colours either because I wanted to find some paper with a tree or something on it to make it look like the bird was flying out of the tree. So after finding the paper in my stash I used my Cricut Wild Cards cartridge and the Craft room to cut out the orange frame. I used the Everyday cakes cartridge of Greg's (as he has the Cricut cake machine and the cartridges can also be used in the Cricut Expression) to cut out the bird in 2 layers. I was struggling to find a font I liked yesterday and Greg being the lovely man he is surprised me with another cartridge he'd bought a while ago and had put away, it's actually a Disney Pooh Font cartridge, it has 3 font's on it and this one fit perfectly. So I cut one out in black as the shadow and one for orange. I went over the detail in the orange with white gel pen. I used Microsoft Publisher to print journaling on a banner shape. I finished with an Love sticker at the top. I love how this turned out, not traditional Valentines colours but I think it worked well : )

Love for Breakfast

I decided to make a start on my Valentines Day pages. I've still got lots of other occasions I'm halfway through scrapping but it's February and It's a loving month so I'm in the mood to do my love pages and I'm just going to scrap what makes me happy at the time and this is it and not worry about what I haven't scrapped yet! I started with some red cardstock and added a mat later of heart paper, it's like an argyle print, I love it. Not bad considering I got it in a pack of 5 with some other prints for $1 from Target. I used the Cricut Craft Room and Accent Essentials to cut out some hearts out of pink. I took out the hearts and used the negative images and put patterned paper behind them. I added a glitzy red border down the side. I did my journalling as strips on the computer. I found a great Valentinesy font online which is so cute with the hearts. The good morning sunshine is from an Echo Park sheet I got recently and it was perfect for this breakfast page. For the font I did a shadow effect using Cuttin Up also in the craft room in pink and white. Then I cut some strawberries from the Preserves cartridge. I used my Peachy Keen faces stamps to stamp on the very cute faces and coloured in the eyes with white gel pen. The felt hearts are actually the clips Greg used as decorations on the vase on the table, so I just took the pegs off and stuck the hearts to the page. Very cute and lovey page.

P.S I love you

Last one now till after Valentines Day as I'll be busy now! This page is of Valentines Day 2010, I'm up to date now and am ready to scrap this years photos once Valentines day has been and gone.  I started with red cardstock and matted on some heart paper. I had some Making Memories paper that you can cut out the squares so I cut out two of those with nice sayings on. I cut out a rectangle from Storybook and then printed my journalling and adhered that to that. I used Opposites Attract to cut out my title and welded some of it in the Cricut Craft Room. I love the pleated ribbon look I have seen around and never been game to try it before but thought I would, so I put a strip of glue across the page and then pleated the ribbon as I go, I put a dab of hot glue in between in pleat so the pleats would stay down, I was really impressed with the result. Another thing I have been wanting to try and is a bit of a craze at the moment is the little pick flags/pennants, I've seen them around and thought I could make my own using my Cricut and the Craft room so I welded to triangles together and then wound them around a toothpick and glued. I stamped a little greeting on there and added some sticker hearts and stuck the flag with glue dots onto the page, really cute, glad I got to do two things today I have been wanting to try : ). Love the page, Happy Valentines Day ♥

Menu for Valentines Day

I made the menu for Valentines Day this afternoon. I won't show the inside as the menu is a surprise. I used red cardstock and used Storybook to cut out the swirly mat layer which was resized to the size I needed in Craft room. I've been wanting to make one of these cute lollypops for ages so I thought it was cute on the menu. All you do is cut out a circle. Thread a needle with some bakers twine thread it through to the back and stick it down. on the front place a large glue dot in the middle to get it started with winding. Then glue tape all over the circle and start winding in a circular pattern until the whole circle is covered in twine and voila a swirly lollypop! I then punched a heart out of a scrap of glittery heart paper and stuck that in the middle. I stuck a lollypop stick in the back using hot glue and tied some ribbon around that and also through the holes in the middle of the menu. I used Cuttin Up to cut out the menu font. Looking forward to placing this on the table Tuesday ♥

Be Mine Banner

I've been working on this over the weekend. My darling hubby is in the kitchen doing some things for Valentines Day and I'm not allowed in there so I've been making my banner. I put it up today as I don't really have anywhere to hide it but the rest of the things can go up tomorrow night. I think it looks really cute here as I already had the "LOVE" wooden plaque up there and the red and black candles and heart in the frame. I used my Cricut Craft room tool to resize some banner images from "Something to Celebrate" and cut them in black. I then sized them down again and cut out the patterned papers. I cut the letters out of "Cuttin Up" and the hearts from "Sweethearts". I had a chipboard glitzy heart in my stash as well and for the heart on the right side I cut my own little arrow and cut the letters out of "Cuttin Up". I threaded through some twine to hang up! I asked Greg if he will be mine and he said he will always be mine yay for me!!

Valentines Day tree

I've been working on this project this afternoon, I saw a similar idea just looking around but decided to make my own version for the Valentines Day table and as a nice decoration for the day. I'm also going to enter it into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge for this week which is "Love in the Air" you can take a look here:
http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/2012/02/challenge-me-monday-97.html

I collected some branches whilst walking the dogs today and put them in a red vase I had at home. I decorated the vase with some ruffled ribbon. I cut all of the decorations out of various Cricut Cartridges including Victorian Romance, Sweethearts, Opposites Attract and Life's a Party. I made the little banners on the hearts from Life's a Party too and customised it to my liking in the Cricut Craft Room. I stamped some greetings on those. I hot glued everything onto the tree some with bended paper clips, some directly onto the tree. I think this is so cute and I'm thrilled with it!

Kiss the Cook

I've been working on this over a few days, I got it finished this afternoon. I'm exhausted today I did a big workout at the gym with Greg ♥ and I had 5 dogs to walk today and Ruby later playing footy in the park with her and Greg, she loves it! So I'm glad to be able to fit a bit in now before getting dinner and doing some washing, and I've been looking forward to finishing this one. It's of Valentines Day 2010 when It was my turn to cook and I made Greg a lovely breakfast and then dinner. Greg had injured his knee badly that year so it was lovely to spoil him!
So I used Red cardstock and then some striped paper and I found a very cute cooking paper at Michaels for only 29 cents on the weekend - bargain and I knew it was perfect for this, so that went on the bottom. I used the Cricut Craft room and Cuttin Up and Serenade for the title. I used the vase from Serenade and the great thing about the craft room is that you can use different cartridges together. I cut a piece of green wire and added a paper flower. I cut the mug out of Joys of the season and put the heart through my Xyron and then added glitter. I added computer journalling and then some pieces of ribbon at the top right with brads.

9 Birthday card

Another one I made this afternoon, I managed to get 2 done which is nice. I got all the housework and washing done this morning and the dogs walked (today was a gym day off) so I had some time to make a few more things. This one if for a friend whose son will be 9. Unfortunately the colour didn't come out too good on the photo with the flash (sorry!). It's quite bright in real life! I cut out an orange circle card on my Wild Cards catridge then layered it with bright green and some spotted paper. I cut out the very cute little dog, hat and number 9 out of the Celebrations cartridge. I cut the dog again in white but just cut out the eye part to make him have a patch. I stamped Happy Birthday in the bottom right corner and then went around the green circle and the dog's hat with my white gel pen to finish.

Pink Card for Cardz TV DT Challenge #5 Tickled Pink

I made this card today for a birthday coming up but also I wanted to enter it in the CardzTV DT Challenge #5 Tickled Pink Challenge. The challenge is to create a project with pink as the primary colour. You can take a look here at the challenge and the entries.

http://cardztv.blogspot.com/2012/02/cardz-tv-dt-challenge-5-tickled-pink.html

I used a pink card and used a Martha Stewart Butterfly border punch along the edge. I matted on some striped paper and used my Cricut Everyday Pop Up Cards cartridge to cut out the flower box and flowers in layers. I used a few different shades of pink for the flowers and some gemstones to embellish. I added a fancy border across the planter box and cut out a pink label by hand and stamped Happy Birthday. I punched some holes and edged it with some scalloped edge scissors to fancy it up a bit and put some pink and white ribbon through. Such a nice, cute card, thanks for looking!

Where Tradition Began

I have been working on this one most of the afternoon. Now the Cricut Craft Room is up and running there is so much you can do with it. I hope the picture came out ok as the light wasn't good at night. I used red card as the base and layered lots of patterned papers on it. I journalled some strips along the bottom. Now the fun part was using the online Cricut Craft room. I welded together a heart border in purple to match my dress. Then I used my Life's a party cartridge to cut out the font. I used the From my Garden cartridge for the roses and pot and put a ribbon bow on that. I used Everyday pop up cards to make the cute little heart shaped box of chocs and I found a LOVE fabric embellishment which I got years ago at a craft fair with mum and dad that I found in my stash! I also found a heart shaped pompom type embellishment in my stash to finish.

Friendly little birthday cupcake

Last night I realised I needed to make a birthday card. My lovely Greg was on the computer and fixed the issue with the Cricut Craft Room for me (yippee!!) so meanwhile I was making this card. I used a purple card and then on the pink mat I ran it through my Cuttlebug with my cupcake embossing folder. I used 2 border strips on top of that. I cut out a scalloped circle out of dotty paper and a white circle both from Accent Essentials. I used Something to celebrate to cut out the lovely little cupcake in pink and white. I used my Peachy keen faces stamps to stamp on a face and used white gel pen to accent the eyes. I had a heart brad in my stash which I put as a cupcake topper. I then went around icing part of the cupcake with silver glitter pen to make it sparkle. I then cut a strip of paper and stamped in the middle. I used my scoring board to make score lines that I folded to make a banner (I learned this on another blog the other day a great idea) and I adhered this with 3D squares. Love this happy little card!

The Food of Love

This page has been on the go for a couple of days. i was looking through my albums and I realised I hadn't scrapbooked our first Valentines day where we cook a special meal for each other. This tradition was started in 2009 with Greg making me a wonderful dinner and we've taken it in turns ever since. So I really wanted to start a Valentines Album and I went back to 2009 and scrapped the wonderful food Greg cooked me. I was struggling a little with my journalling. I'm not a fan of handwriting on pages for me as I like to use my computer but I was tired of the same black and white so my lovely husband saved the day and showed me some tricks with Publisher and I love how my journalling turned out. To start the page I started with some red love paper and used my Cricut Accent Essentials to cut a scalloped circle and regular circle, I used both parts of the circles on the page. For my title I used my design studio to make it go in a funny shape (which I love) and I matted the photos onto white. I used some paper embellishments and gemstones and a chipboard heart.

Parisian Patisserie

I finished this page today, I lost my Mojo a bit on it yesterday but I went through all my albums last night and saw all my pages I have done so far and I got it back and also some encouragement from my lovely husband always helps ♥. So today I went to the gym, walked my dogs and have the dinner cooking so I've been looking forward to getting back onto this. I made this page on the little cafe/patisserie we went to in Paris at Christmas. Whilst out shopping on Saturday Greg found this nice paper pack at Target for $1 it was a Valentines pack and it had this nice bordered sheet in it so I used this as I loved the red. The font is cut out from Jubilee and is welded together in the design studio. I cut out the couple at the table from my Sweethearts cartridge to look like Greg and I. I used the same cartridge to cut out the little envelope and tag and I printed my journalling. The little coffee cup is from the Everyday pop up cards cartridge and I had a little chipboard sentiment at the top sitting in my stash already. I used the pop up cards catridge to cut out the little Eiffel Tower and I went around that in silver glitter pen and the title. I'm glad I finished this page today, it looks great : )
