Poolside

I printed these photos out last week and only got around to doing them today as been busy and I realised that after finishing our St Lucia photos that I still had Mexico ones I hadn't scrapbooked so here is a page on Puerto Vallarta in Mexico at the lovely resort we stayed at where the pool was beautiful and big. We were there every day and enjoyed it a lot, it was so relaxing and lovely. I used blue cardstock for the pool feel and used my Cricut "Storybook" cartridge to cut out the scalloped flip flops paper. I then matted the photos onto that and cut out a label also on the "Storybook" cartridge and used Rub ons to spell out Poolside. I used "Life's a beach" to cut out the bamboo tree and "Accent Essentials" for the scalloped circles and arrow. I also used "Life's a beach" to cut out Teeny Bikini. I had some stickers and some brads to use so they went on as well as some rhinestones to decorate the bikini. I love this page, good memories and I love anything to do with a pool or a holiday so a very happy page! : )

Little birdy

This is my last one for this week, another general card, I left the greeting off so I can put the right greeting on for the occasion when I need it. I used a light blue card and then added a hot pink layer and green patterned paper. I then used my Sew Easy tool which makes holes and then I hand stitched (very relaxing) around it with white thread. I then used my Cricut "Straight from the nest" cartridge to cut out the sweet little bird and tree (which I love to do at the moment they are so cute) and added some brown twine in a bow. Not sure what occasion I will end up using this card for but either way I'm sure the recipient will love it like I do!

Pink for you card

Now that I've finished scrapbooking St Lucia and our ceremony I decided to restock my supply of cards. I like to have a few on hand so I have one if the need comes up to send one and it's nice to change to cards after scrapping for a while. I cut out a hot pink card using my "Just because cards" Cricut cartridge and then matted some white onto that and some nice pink plaid patterned paper. I really like the look of the doiley cards that are trendy now so I used a paper doiley and then used my "Straight from the nest" Cricut cartridge to cut out the pink scalloped circle and the flower which was in layers. I then used my "Wild Card" cartridge to cut out the "For you" sentiment and finished with some pink and white bakers twine (which I just love, I got a bag full of skeins of this in all colours off Ebay) around the bottom.

Share the moments that bring you joy

I'm almost finished my St Lucia pics now both holiday and the renewal of vows ceremony. I decided to do this page as a one photo page as it was when we had our nice reception lunch after our ceremony at Armando's restaurant at the resort. They did our table up really special and we had a lovely meal. Whilst at Michaels the other night with Greg ♥ I found this lovely stamp "Share the moments that bring you joy" in the $1 bin so I got it as I thought it would be lovely for this page mainly but also for cards.  A few weeks ago Greg found the sheet of stitched "love" paper there too so I'm glad I had this perfect opportunity to use it on this page. I cut some pieces of pink and heart paper for the background and stamped the sentiment on the pink. I used my Cricut Essentials to cut out the hearts and the label. I then embossed the hearts on my Cuttlebug. I then cut out a butterfly which I got at Christmas in Australia which I have been looking forward to using, that also went through my Cuttlebug. I finished off with an iron on felt scalloped border. A really nice page with nice memories!

Lets Chill

This was a page I finished today, I saw this idea in my magazine and adapted it to make it my own design. I used blue cardstock as the base and cut strips of patterned paper. I have been looking forward to using my flip flops paper for a while that I bought when I was back home in Australia at Christmas so this was a good use for it. I used my Cricut to cut the font and also the little starfish border out of "Life's a beach". I added some stickers I had lying around my stash and some journalling.

Sunsational!

I started this one on the weekend but finished it today as with no Ruby to walk today I had some time this afternoon. I wanted to do a page on the lovely sunsets we saw in St Lucia. I had some lovely orange and yellow card and papers so they went perfect with this. I cut a big circle using Cricut Essentials and then cut some waves using "Life's a beach". I snipped around them to curve them and stick them to the back of the circle to make a big sun! I then cut out some orange waves to make it "firey". I added some borders from my stash and cut out the font using "Life's a beach". I went through my stash and found a really nice acrylic orange frame to go around the journalling and also a cute little sun. I also found a lovely metal sun clip which I attached to the journalling. To finish I cut some palm trees from "Life's a beach". A lovely reminder of some of the beautiful sunsets we got to see so now we can always look at it and smile!

I made this card over the weekend for a blog competition. Yesterday at Joann's I found a lovely 6 x 6 pack of papers on clearance so I used one of the green sheets from that. I used my "Straight from the nest" cartridge to cut out the branch, the sweet little bird and the flowers. I used my "Cricut essentials" to cut out the label and I stamped the greeting. I added some twine and some brads & gemstones to finish. I'm loving this card, almost too much to give away!

Walk forever by my side

Well I managed to fit in doing another page on St Lucia today between everything else, I'm glad because I love my scrapping so much, especially with my new Cricut machine! I made a page today the photos that our Photographer took along the beach in St Lucia after our ceremony. I found the perfect quote to go on this page "Walk forever by my side" as it shows us walking together on the beach and through life. I used my Cricut to cut out the large flower in the green and white paper and then also for my font, just married sign and cute little heart with the couple in it.I had a kit that had an iron on transfer so my lovely husband helped me iron this on as it was quite delicate, it came out great (swirl above photo), it actually has a felt feel to it. I typed "for the 2nd time - St Lucia October 2010" under the Just married sign..I had some little white paper doilies so I put that under the two main photos as it was lacy and had a "weddingy" feel to it. I love this page (but I love them all)!

A toast to us

I was able to do some more scrapping tonight as I had to go out this afternoon and Greg came for a walk with me in the lovely warm weather (26 today!), so he made up the time for a couple of hours after dinner this evening so I busied myself with scrapbooking our St Lucia photos. I made a page on some photos of us in our suite. One evening when we went out for dinner at the resort our Butlers decorated our bed with a message and rose petals and some champagne, it was wonderful. I also love these photos of Greg, his smile is just the best. I used my "Songbird" cartridge for the label at the top and my "Cindy Loo" cartridge for the font. I added a little stick on flower in the corner. Then I cut out the champagne bottle complete with sparkly bubbles at the top which are gemstones and glasses from my "Simply Charmed" cartridge and the "Cheers" sign. I added some journalling that I typed on the computer as well as some little circle sayings and a lovely ornate metal I love you I picked up at Michaels the ohter day on clearance - bargain! Love this page (as I do all of them, such good memories!)

Paradise

I started this yesterday but finished it today. Continuing on with more St Lucia pics as there are so many good ones so it will take a while but I love them so it's fun! I got this great kit the other day from Marshalls it was a lovely DCWV pack that was very beachy themed and it came with a beautiful album, papers, embellishments etc. So it's perfect for these photos. I used blue cardstock as the base and added a lovely tropical flower sheet and then a black dot sheet from the pack. I cut out Paradise using "Life's a beach" cartridge and also the very cute bikini and board shorts which I pegged onto some twine. I used some of the nice flowers stickers from the pack and also a border down the bottom as well as a great flourish on the bottom right. Really loving this layout!

CardzTv challenge

I made this card as part of a challenge for the Cardz TV blog Fathers day - Beach challenge. Have a look here http://cardztv.blogspot.com/2011/06/fathers-day-beach-challenge.html

I was really excited to have a go as I haven't done one of these before and I love my "Life's a beach" cartridge. So I used a white card and a blue mat. Then I got to work on my Cricut and cut out the gorgeous little shapes - palm tree, deckchair, surfboard, sun, waves, font and whale. I used my "Fabulous Finds" cartridge to cut out the red tap following the plane and printed out "Have a whale of a" on my computer. I didn't have a Cricut cartridge that has a plane on it so tonight Greg and I walked to Michaels but they didn't have a suitable one so we found a great one in clipart and used that which I think looks perfect. I used some white cotton to tie that to the tag and finished off with some gemstones for the coconuts in the palm tree. Hope I win the competition, but even if I don't I know Dad will like the card for Fathers Day.

How sweet it is

Last one for this week..more St Lucia..I have a lot of photos to scrap but I love doing them! : ). This one is of us enjoying our "wedding reception" dinner in the evening. Our Butler made a reservation at the posh French restaurant La Toc at the resort. I wore my silk dress Greg bought for me and Greg looked gorgeous in his outfit. I used my Cricut to cut the large flower at the back. I had some brown sticker letters that went perfect for the font and also a border from the same page and sticker that says "Together Forever". I found this lovely metal sticker the other week at Michaels that says "True love stories never have endings" which I thought was so perfect as our love story is still going strong after 10 lovely years of marriage. I then cut out a scroll and flower from my Sweethearts cartridge and set some flower eyelets into the large flower at the back. Finished off with some rhinestones along the scroll and flower.

Have your cake and eat it too

Time to continue on with my St Lucia pages. I'm enjoying doing these as all my favourite things are in them - Greg ♥, St Lucia, the beach, cake, my white bikini, lol...this time I decided to do a page on us eating our wedding cake on the afternoon of our ceremony. We got back to our room and saw the cake in the fridge so we decided to take some out with some non alcoholic champagne out to our private pool and enjoy. I thought blues fit best with this in terms of paper and then used my Cricut Essentials cartriidge to cut out the shapes down the left hand side, I then decorated those with buttons and brads. I did my journalling on the computer and cut it into a semi circle shape for something different. I also cut out the font using my "Cuttin it up" cartridge and the cake using "Sweet treats". I got my glitter glue's and did a bit of final bling on the cake and the heart on the left hand side. I love this one as it shows us enjoying the rest of our day.

It's summer and time for Ice cream!

I am addicted to my Sweet Treats cartridge which is ok because I can see all these cute treats and enjoy them & not ruin all my hard work at the gym! I had some time this morning and I've been wanting to try and make these cute ice cream cards for ages. I wasn't sure what size to cut at first so I cut one and decided it could go a bit bigger so I made 2. I used my Scor-pal to score the waffle type lines on the cone then cut out all the flavours in different colours (the fun part). On the larger one I cut out white for vanilla, dark brown for chocolate and orange for orange. I put the brown piece through my Cuttlebug to emboss it and make it looks like choc dots on top of chocolate. I added some little flowers to look like lolly flowers on the orange. Then I finished that off with some twine with a little greeting made from a tag and a bright orange bow. The smaller one was same colours except pink for strawberry. I ran the brown this time through the Cuttlebug folder with friend on it and decorated the pink with gemstones to make it look like sprinkles! I finished that with some nice bright pink and red ribbon. I'm going to keep the large one for a birthday card but the smaller one with friend on it, i'm going to send to my friend Conny who has been telling me she's been out enjoying Spring evenings eating ice cream so I know she'll love that. I really want to more but I'm out of time today however there will always be more time for Sweet Treats! : )

Love you to my core

I made this anniversary card today for my darling Greg for our anniversary coming up in October. I used my new Wild Cards cartridge to cut out the scalloped card and matching envelope (I love this shape card) in a nice lime green. Then circles cut in stripy red and black. I then used my Serenade cartridge to cut out the little apple. I printed out the "Love you to my core" sentiment and finished off with some nice heart ribbon. I love this card lots!!! and I can't wait to see what Greg thinks in October ♥

Birthday gift

I really love doing the shaped cards so for this one I used my Sweet Treats cartridge and cut out the present as a card and used the layers to decorate it. I cut out a tag and used a Happy Birthday sentiment from another cartridge and finished it all up with a nice bow. (The sun is streaming through our windows so its' casting a shadow on the card, not that I am complaining it's great summer is here!)

New home card

My friend Lindsay in England is moving house so It was the perfect chance for me to use my new Cricut Wild Cards cartridge as it has a very cute door envelope and house card. I made the card and then pieced together all the other bits and put a brad on the front door for the handle. Same with the envelope, I cut it out and scored along the lines, very cute, I loved using this cartridge!
