Card in a box - Easter Card for Greg

Hello I've got a special card to show you today, I thought i would make this for Greg for Easter. I feel really blah and sick of winter lately so I thought making Greg's Easter card might cheer me up and to think of Spring, bunnies and Easter Eggs. I will be so glad to see Spring. My poor hands and skin are suffering and I'm tired all the time, I would love to be able to go out with Greg for a nice walk or do something outside or take Ivy for a big play in the park without being frozen..oh well it will come, each day is closer!!

So this card is a really nice one, I saw a video on YouTube from an Australian Stampin Up Demonstrator so I decided to have a go for Greg. I won't give you all the measurements but if you do a search on You Tube for 3D box card it will come up. As you can see it folds down flat and when you open it it explodes into a 3D box. I will tell you quickly what cuts I used on the Cricut. For the bunny he is from Folk Art Festival cut at 2.25", the flower is cut from the Flower Shoppe cartridge at 1.5". The egg is also cut from Folk Art Festival at 2 inches, I just used the plain egg for that one and decorated it with punched flowers. The other pink flower at the back was from my stash, so that wasn't a Cricut one. The Easter basket and eggs is from Doodlecharms and the label with the sentiment is from Artiste. Everything else is stickers from my stash and stamped greetings from Verve Stamps and My Craft Spot.

I really enjoyed making it, you could do it for many different occasions. Thanks for looking.

Orange County

Hello I thought I would quickly put this page I did recently sorry about the photo quality I took it at night. I can barely type as I have nasty cuts and splits on my fingers that are bleeding from the weather being so cold and it's painful, I wish this cold would go away! but anyway a quick explanation of my page. I did a page on our drive through Orange County last year in California. I used blue card then a chevron piece of patterned paper and some heart paper. I made a little banner from Art Philosophy and decorated with stickers and a felt heart. There are two flower stickers at the top as well. For the journalling tag I resized using the Cricut Craft Room and Artbooking. For the tag I used Artiste and the font is from Paper Lace. Thanks for looking.

Mothers Day Card #2

Hello another Mothers Day card this one is for my mum. I used a pink card base and then some rose patterned paper along the bottom. I cut the table legs on my Cricut (can't remember which cut it was sorry). I used some doilies I got from Michaels, one was folded into a triangle. Then a scrap of ruffled ribbon on top and some teacup and teapot stickers. I then stamped the greeting to finish. Thanks for looking.

Mothers Day Card #1

Hello happy snowy cold Wednesday, so glad to be back inside today, Miss Ivy hated it like we did! Anyway I finished a card today for Greg's mum for Mothers Day. I know it's not until May but I felt like getting them made then they will be ready to post at the time. I started with a lime green card and some cute lime green dot paper. I made the bouquet paper from a square just on my Cricut and folded it in yellow card (just a scrap in my box). For the flowers, they were some in my stash from Prima Flowers and I cut the leaves from my Serenade cartridge at 1.5 inches. I tied some ribbon around and stamped a greeting. I think it turned lovely and hope Greg's mum likes it : )

Malibu Beach

Hello I have another page today from our California trip last year. This page is about Malibu beach. I started with blue card stock and 2 types of patterned paper. I kept it simple and added a fancy rectangle from Art Philosophy and the title is from Life's a Beach. I cut the sun from Celebrate with Flourish. I added some stickers and a badge to finish. Thanks for looking.

Another California scrapbook page

Hello I have a page I started yesterday and finished this afternoon it's of when we were in California year and found a wonderful frozen yogurt place that had so many toppings, it was a great find and a nice afternoon. I started with coral colored cardstock and then some dotty paper which sort of matched the logo of the frozen yogurt place.I then put a piece of blue in the middle. I cut the font out of two cartridges. "Sweet" was from Artbooking and "Treats" was from Nate's ABC. The treats was actually "Doggy Treats" but I cut the "Doggy" part off. For the frozen yogurt I used Sweet Shoppe and added some glossy accents to the cherry to make it shiny just like a real cherry! I used a chipboard banner piece that was plain white and then used the coordinating stamp to stamp Oh Happy Day in two shades of green. I did some journaling at the bottom on Publisher. A very nice page of a fun day. Thanks for looking.

Pupcakes for Ivy's birthday

Hello, this is not craft related but I thought I would put these on my blog, I made some pupcakes for Miss Ivy who will be one year old tomorrow. The recipe was quite easy and has peanut butter in it which she loves. Greg frosted them with pureed sweet potato (which Ivy also loves) and he found some treats at World Market yesterday which fit perfectly on top. I got the cupcake liners and matching boxes at Michaels. I'm looking forward to giving them tot he birthday girl I hope she likes them!

Another Valentines Day project

Hello happy Saturday it's snowing a lot here, glad I'm inside with Greg! I made my second Valentines Day canvas this afternoon. I got my canvas today at Joann so I wanted to get it made. I had some red material left over from my Christmas cushion I made so with the help of Greg and a staple gun I stapled my fabric onto my canvas. I used my Cricut Iron-on vinyl to put the word love on there. I love the Cricut vinyl it always looks good on home decor items. The actual love sentiment was from my Paper Pups cartridge, I do like it, thanks for looking.

Get Well Card

Hello Happy Thursday only 2 more days till the weekend which is good!

I have a card that I finished this morning it's for Greg's mom, who is having an operation on her back at the end of January so I took her off my blog list for this one so she doesn't see. I really like how this turned out. I started with a pink card and then a layer of light pink then purple. I put the purple through my hexagon embossing folder. I cut a strip of light pink and used my Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I had a lot of leftover butterflies from my Valentines Day canvas so I decided to use them on his card. I scattered them across the card and glued them on. I stamped the sentiment with a My Favorite Things stamps set. I decided to decorate the inside as well as I've seen this done and think it finishes a card off nicely. I used a piece of the same purple then I cut a frame from Elegant Edges which had a butterfly cut out of it so it fit perfectly with the theme of the card. I also stamped a thinking of you sentiment from a Close to my Heart set.

Venice Beach Sunset

Hello I have another page on our California holiday today. I started it last week but just finished it today as I had to stop and start on it. I had the perfect background patterned paper to use an old DCWV Summer Stack. I then cut a heart at 8" from Art Philosophy in coral. The title was cut from Artbooking, I customized my size in the Cricut Craft Room and this was cut in cream. I matted the photos onto a golden yellow cardstock and I cut the tag which was customized again on the Cricut Craft Room from Artbooking on a scrap of patterned paper. I added various stickers and a chipboard tag all from my stash. The pretty flowers mum and dad gave me for Christmas which were perfect for this layout. Have a nice Wednesday.

Valentines Day project

Hello I've got a project to show you today that I decided to make for Valentines Day. It's still a month away but I decided to put it up as I love it. I saw an idea in a magazine and decided to make one. I bought a canvas frame from Joann's and using my Cricut I cut out a large outline heart at 8". I pencilled around this onto the canvas, it was just used as a template. Then I punched out lots of small butterflies with my punch in dark pink, red and light pink. I hot glued these on the canvas and voila that's it. Pretty easy but really cute. I"m going to do another one for the other side as I think it needs two there..it's going to be a bit different so watch this space : )

Venice Beach

Hello I am really glad to be home with Greg today the weather is awful outside again so I was able to get a scrapbook page done. Sorry about the shadow in the photo, the lighting is not good and well I did the best I could so I could get it on my blog to you.

I thought it was time to revisit California and keep going on these pages. I realised I had scrapped San Clemente and hadn't started Venice Beach yet so here is my first page on Venice Beach. I love all of these photos we had such a nice time there, I would love to be there with Greg now! But at least I'm with Greg and that's all that matters.

I started with some blue card then I added a piece of coral chevron paper it was from a DCWV stack Greg got me for Christmas, it was really bright and summery so perfect for this page. I then used another piece from the same stack I liked the flower pattern on it, it reminded me of Venice Beach a bit hippy and flowery. I cut the pretty layer on the fit to page setting on my Artbooking cartridge. For the font I used Extreme Fonts and this was cut in blue. I cut the palm tree at 2" from Artbooking as well and for the cute sun border I used Life's a beach. I added the Peachy Keen face stamps to give them little faces, I love them! I added a date sticker at the top. Have a nice weekend.

Valentines treat box for my Valentine

Hello Happy Friday, glad it's almost the weekend and it's warmer today we're up to 3 degrees, can't believe I"m excited about that but believe me when you've been living in Antarctica this week you get excited over that stuff, sad I know..lol.

I decided to make something else for Greg for Valentines Day. He's such a good, good man and I love him so much, I wasn't feeling very well this morning (girl stuff) so he got me a little chocolate and a cappuccino and a hot water bottle and made me lay down and rest for a bit, I felt so much better, I told him how much I appreciate him and love him.

Anyway so after I felt better I made this cute letterbox. On Cricut Craft Room this week they have a free cartridge to use and it's the Love Struck one, I love this one as I love Valentines Day. So I cut the letterbox at 11 inches on double sided card. It was easy to fold and put together. The "Sweetie" is from the same cartridge I used some stickers and cut some hearts out of scraps from my Nestabilities scalloped hearts. Just for the photo I put some chocolates in and little notes, but for Valentines Day I will get some heart shaped chocolates and I also have some Red Velvet tea bags I got for Greg as he loves Red Velvet. I know he'll love it. Thanks for looking and have a nice weekend.

Greg's Valentine's card

Hello Thursday to you (or Friday for the mum's in Australia). It's snowing again outside and there was a chance tonight that if it was clear we could have seen a glimpse of the northern lights that happen every year in the northern hemisphere but it's very cloudy so we don't think so tonight. Anyway, I have a card that I am really proud of today to show you, I made this card for Greg for Valentines Day. It was also a challenge for me as I wanted to use what I had in my craft stash and my Cartridges rather than buy more things and I'm pleased as It turned out so cute. I wanted to try making an Easel card in a heart shape, I'd made a round one before but not a heart. So I went to my Cricut Craft Room and welded 2 hearts together from Art Philosophy at 5 inches to make the card, I then cut another one singular at 5 inches. I folded the card in half then folded back the bottom bit so the singular heart could be glued on top to make the easel. I cut this in black then cut 2 red hearts at 4 inches for the layers. I embossed one on a Cuttlebug folder and stuck that down. I then cut a tiny pink heart from my Nestabilities hearts set Greg got me for Christmas. I then stamped that with Be Mine from a Close to My Heart stamp set. I then went to my Teddy Bear Parade cartridge and cut out the cute cupid bear at 3 inches in all the layers, I think he's so sweet with his bow and arrow. I also stamped Valentine and love you in the middle of the card, What do you think? I know Greg will love it. Have a nice day.

Ivy's Birthday Card

Hello Happy Wednesday or what is left of it here. I finished a card tonight for a very special friend of ours Ivy, isn't she lovely? Well it's her first birthday coming up on January 20 so I decided to make her a card as she deserves it and it's a special day. I'll also make her some "pupcakes" (dog version of cupcakes) for her birthday too.

Sorry about my lighting it's dark now but I wanted to put it on my blog as soon as I finished it. I started with a square white card then added two layers of spotty paper, it was from a nice American Crafts 6 x 6 pad my lovely husband got me for Christmas. I then used my new Paper Pups Cricut cartridge Greg got me for Christmas too it had the cutest dog on it just like Ivy so I cut that out in 2 layers at 2.5 inches. I cut the hat a bit smaller at about 1.5 inches from the same cartridge. I added some glitter and a rub-on number 1 on the hat. I cut the Birthday Girl from my Artiste Cartridge at about 2.5 inches. Thanks for looking.

Greg the baker page

Hello again I have another page today I got 2 pages finished today so I"m really happy and this is probably my favourite one in a while most likely because it features Greg and his wonderful cake. I found the perfect paper just before Christmas with the little stand mixers on it and I knew it would be perfect for a page on Greg's baking. I used this as the background and then added a strip of white card along the bottom. I had a journalling card that I didn't really like so I flipped it over and added my journalling from Publisher. I like the little notepad look : ). I added some stickers and die cut some hearts from my heart set of Nestabilities Greg got me for Christmas I stapled these on and then to finish added a acetate overlay that I found whilst going through my stash, I just love the saying on the bottom, it's so true because as Greg proved nothing is impossible when there are dreams and love and he had dreams and love and made this wonderful cake possible.

Christmas Gifts

Hello from a very cold Chicago, I am glad I am back at home with Greg now and don't need to go out into that horror for the rest of the day! So I have a page I started last week and finished today. It's another Christmas one, probably my last one apart from Greg's baking one. This one was of gift opening. I started with some gift patterned paper, then used my Artbooking cartridge to cut a layer which houses 7 photos but I decided to just use 6 and use the other rectangle for my journaling. This is a good cut for many photos. I also recycled some of my embellishments. The Santa was originally used for gift packaging for Greg on some chocolate and the Forever Friends bear opening the gift was on a tag I made for Greg. I also used various stickers and embellishments mostly from a collection I won a while back from Bella Blvd. I especially love the Keep Calm and Twinkle on heart : ) Have a nice day.

The amazing Christmas cake layout

Hello Happy Friday, I have another Christmas page today, this one is of the wonderful cake that Greg made, it was the best cake ever and I'm so proud of him, he's so clever so I had to scrapbook it and look forward to looking at it for years to come and thinking how great it was. Although I'm sure Greg will make lots of wonderful cakes from now on as well : )

I used some red card as my base then 3 different patterned papers all from a Recollections stack I got at Michaels before Christmas. I cut the font from my Paper Lace cartridge in green patterned paper. For the train I used the Folk Art Cartridge to cut the engine of the train then I made the carriages myself using shapes as I didn't have quite the right one on any of my cartridges. For the presents I hand cut them from a sheet of paper. I added a few heart stickers as well as a chalkboard heart sticker I had in my stash and I wrote my journaling on this. Have a nice weekend.

First Christmas scrapbook page

Hello everyone for the last day of 2013, I hope 2013 was a good year for you and hoping though that 2014 is even better!

I was really pleased that I'm able to show you my first Christmas scrapbook page, I finished it this afternoon (sorry about my slippers in the photo! but they are cute Minnie Mouse ones!). I scrapped a photo of Greg and I with our Christmas lunch we both love this photo. I started with some green card then a layer of red dot card. I then added a layer of very cute paper that I got in a pad this year from Michaels, I think it was a Recollections one. I cut a photo mat from my Artbooking cartridge in red and also the font in white glittery card from the same cartridge. I had a cute file folder tag that I got in a prize I won a few months ago from Bella Blvd so I used this for my journaling, it pulls out from behind the photo. I added various borders and stickers as well as a Christmas tree pin that I got from Michaels and a badge. I love doing Christmas scrapbooking, I hope to do more soon, next will probably be a page about Greg's fabulous cake!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!
