Christmas at the zoo

I loved the photos so much from the zoo yesterday that I scrapped them today. This will be my last project for this year as it's time to pack up all my stuff before we go back to Aust on Wednesday. I used some patterned paper with lights on it as it was perfect for the theme and my Cricut to cut out the lettering, snowflakes, penguin and Christmas tree. I had a sparkly chipboard flourish so that went under the journalling.

Christkindl Market

I decided to do this page today, I am in the middle of my St Lucia pages but I've been told to wait and see what Santa brings me before I finish them, so that will wait now till next year. So I scrapbooked our photos from the German Christkindl Market from last weekend. I love the photo of Greg and I the most with our cute little boots filled with hot chocolate. I used my Cricut cartridges to cut out the letters and shapes and I had some gingerbread paper which went with the theme perfectly. I finished the page with a striped fabric heart.

Wish

I am getting in front with a few of my cards for next year as with studying starting again in the new year I figure it's a good time to make a few for upcoming birthdays. I made this one for my friend (can't say who in case she sees this!). I am loving my Cricut "Stamping" cartridge it's very funky and simple. I use it to cut out 2 butterflies and 2 daisies along with the "wish" sentiment. I used my "Sweethearts" cartridge to cut out the fancy rectangle. I drew in some antennas and used a brad for the inside of the flower. Simple but pretty : )

I do...still!

Last ones for today as it's time to think about dinner. I did a double page spread for this one as I wanted to put our renewal of vows on here too as it will be nice to look back on what we said. I used blue's for these as it matches the lovely Carribbean Sea in the background. I kept it simple with a circle cut out of blue floral paper on each and used my "Sweethearts" Cricut cartridge to cut out the "I do" and also the blue hearts. I used some fabric flowers and brads and also a beautiful lacy heart die cut with little birds that mum gave me which I matted onto white card to make it stand out against the blue. I love these pages, another reminder of a great day with my wonderful husband ♥

Here comes the bride

Today I am continuing my journey with my St Lucia photos. This page is "Here comes the bride" and it's about when I walked to the gazebo to meet Greg, just like I did 10 years ago except that was in a church and not in tropical gardens overlooking the ocean : )
I used greens for my page to go with the tropical gardens.I found a lovely tropical leaf paper in my stash and a border that I got in a pack for $1 from Target (proof that scrapbooking doesn't have to be an expensive hobby!). Greg's mom gave me a lovely scrapbook kit last Christmas and there are so many wonderful bits and pieces in there and I found the "Remember this moment" die cut which was perfect as well as a pretty leaf die cut. I used my "Sweethearts" Cricut cartridge to cut out the "Here comes the bride" sentiment and my page is complete. Very happy with this one!

The Bride

I had to do my matching page to "The Groom" page I did yesterday so today I did "The Bride" page. I used the same colours in pinks for the cardstock and went through my stacks of papers and came up with the pretty pink floral paper for the bottom. I used my "Sweethearts" Cricut cartridge to cut out "The Bride" and also the flourish (I just love that). Greg actually found the lacy pink butterfly and the perfect spot for it was in the bottom left corner so I mounted that on white card so it would show up better on the floral paper. Some wire antennas were added. I then typed a small note for the bottom. I really love this page, it brings back really great memories ♥

The Groom

This is my last page for today I really wanted to get it finished tonight as I was enjoying making it. This is a photo that was taken before our ceremony, the Photographer took it of me helping Greg with his buttonhole. I love this picture. I used different shades of pinks and white in this and used my "Sweethearts" Cricut cartridge to cut out "The Groom" as well as the little suit which I cut in colours to match what Greg was wearing. I used some felt embellishments and flower stickers. I also had a sheet of scrapbook paper that had lots of little sayings on it so I cut some of those out and finished with a sticker "Dedicated to Greg". Greg loved this page, I did too..I think "The Bride" one will be next in line : )

One perfect morning..first scrapbook page for St Lucia

I decided to make a start on my pages from our renewal of vows ceremony in St Lucia. I have a HUGE backlog of photos way before this but this was the best trip of my life (apart from my honeymoon) and I just have been dying to start scrapbooking it and right now I am not feeling so well and these photos make me happy so I thought why not scrapbook one of the happiest days of my life : ). So I started with the day of our ceremony when we first woke up to a lovely day in Paradise. I kept the layout simple as I had a nice sheet of paper to use with hearts going down the side and these photos deserved a simple layout as they are only a start to what was a wonderful day. I matted my photos on white card and used my "Calligraphy" font Cricut cartridge to cut out "One perfect morning" in burgundy. I finished it off with some fabric flowers similar to what was in my bouquet.

Ornaments

This was actually another one I made today using my Cricut. There is a special ornament feature on the "Joys of the Season" cartridge so I used that to cut out the patterned baubles and decrate with different coloured card underneath. I used satin ribbon and bows to hang them and some little fabric snowflakes and brad and a Happy Holidays sticker to finish

Sweet Gingerbread man

Ok I think that's it for my Christmas cards this year, I'm all done! This was my last one (I think). I used my Cricut to cut out the little gingerbread man and decorated him with rhinestones. I found some gorgeous gingerbread man ribbon at Michaels for only $1 a reel so that was definitely going in my shopping basket. I used some other ribbon for the bow and stamped Merry Christmas on the bottom.

Santa Claus is coming to town

Well I'm nearly finished on my Christmas cards, it's a shame as I love making them but there are plenty of other cards and scrapbook pages to do! This one is so cute. I did something different by cutting out circles with my Cricut and layering them on the side and putting a strip of green card over it. I then cut out the warm wishes sentiment with the "Simply Charmed" cartridge as well as the cute little Santa. I finished it with a gold star eyelet and silver brad.

Let it Snow

Another wintery one for someone on this side of the world! I used blue and silvers again, I love the sparkly blue paper the most! I then used my Cricut to cut out the word snow and the snowman's head and used a sparkly line sticker through the middle. I used rub on letters for the "let it" at the top of the word snow, then found some fabric snowflakes in my stash and some silver brads for a cluster of snowflakes and finished off with a light blue bow.

Hanging bauble

I realised I only have a few Christmas cards left to make so this is one of them. I used blues and silvers for a more wintery look. I cut the bauble from my "Joys of the Season" cricut cartridge and also the Seasons Greetings saying for the bottom. I added some snowman ribbon and a bow with some gemstones to finish.

Thank you

I made this card for my Doctors who have looked after me so well this past week, Greg and I both think we are lucky to have found them, both my GP and the Surgeon so I think they deserved a nice card. I made just a simple thank you card using layers of cardstock, some ribbon and a big thanks Cricut sign with a daisy and brad in the corner.

Thanksgiving card for my wonderful husband

Well today is the day after i had my little operation and I'm not feeling too well but I am well enough to make some cards which is just the right medicine today as it's cold and chilly outside. Greg went to the gym (none for me today!) and so I decided to make him a card, not that we celebrate Thanksgiving but I think it's always nice to be thankful for people that make a difference so I thought what better day to make him a special card. I used my Cricut Simply Charmed cartridge to cut out a cute turkey and mount it on layered card, then I used a new cartridge I got inexpensive on Ebay the other day called "Stamping", it had all kinds of great sayings and pictures so I cut out the "Thanks so much"one in yellow. I found a cute set of stamps at Michaels the other day for only $1 and the "You're the best" one was in there, very ideal for Greg as I think he is the best!! Inside the card I cut out "Love you" which was perfect. So now I"m just waiting for Greg to come back from gym so I can give him his cute card.

Purple penguin

I made this one yesterday afternoon. I found some penguin ribbon at the craft shop, I just loved it and it was different to the normal Christmas colours so I got it and created this card with it using the purples. I used my Cricut and Nestabilities as always and came up with this design which makes the grey days of winter seem a bit brighter!

It's your day

I needed to make a birthday card for my friend Melanie in the U.K as her birthday is at the end of November. I did some autumn colours as her birthday is at the end of autumn and used my Cricut Celebrations cartridge to cut out the sentiment and also the gifts. I then decorated with a bow. I know she will like this card : )

challenge card 2

I finally got to finish my card today, I am really happy with it, I stuck to all the rules from Greg who made the challenge quite challening!! The challenge was:

·         Card must be top fold.
·         Must use at least 3 layers (colors) of card for at least 50% of the cards surface
·         One of those layers must be a Christmas color (red/green/white)
·         A least two cricut cartridges must be used (writing and object, two objects etc)
·         The card must include a Santa of some sort.
·         The card must include at least one embellishment not created by Cricut (sticker, stick on, rub on etc)
·         The card must include a christmas greeting however there must be two words in the greeting.

Extra points for
·         if ribbon is used on the card
·         if a rubber stamp is also used on the card

I also got extra points I think. I love the cheeriness of this card and I am glad I picked up the sparkly cardstock at Joanns the other day as it adds a Christmassy feel to the card. Hope you like it!

Cute little penguin in the snow

I started this one yesterday and was busy this morning but got to finish it now. I tried some different colours and I think the pink and blue works well with the bright green. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder in snowflakes to make the embossed white background, then I coloured in some of the snowflakes using my chalks. I also used a scallop border punch to do a border on the pink cardstock. I then used my Cricut to cut out my penguin and finished off with a sticker "ho ho ho" greeting and some sequin snowflakes.

Reindeers

I worked out that I have about 8 or so Christmas cards left to make so one of these is a reindeer card I made today. I layered some cardstock and patterned papers and cut out some reindeers with my Cricut. I had some Jolee's stickers in my box so I used those for the holiday greeting and the holly. I then took some ribbon from my box to decorate the bottom. Simple but nice : )

Noel

Here is my challenge card for today from mum. The challenge was to use red card with one edge scalloped, a snowman, a Christmas tree and a rub on greeting or stick on greeting. I probably lose points here but I didn't have a large red card or cardstock on hand so I made a gold card but I did scallop the edge on one side. I then cut out baubles on my Cricut in silver and cut a smaller circle for the inside in red. I then cut out the snowman (very cute) and Christmas tree and decorated those and hung them with ribbon and bows. Then I used my rub on alphabets to write the word Noel.

Santa and his reindeers

I finally finished this card tonight, I started working on it yesterday as there were so many pieces to cut out but this is definitely my favourite. I started off with a blue card and then used my Cricut "Joys of the Season" Cartridge to cut out Santa, his sleigh, reindeers, houses, moon and trees. I asked Greg for his opinion and he suggested going through all of my paper and seeing if I had some kind of sky paper or a night sky looking paper. So I went through it all and I found the perfect clouds paper to make it seem like Santa is flying through the night. So then it was time to get the placing just right of all the pieces, I called Greg over to show him ideas and we both agreed this was the best. I then used a sticker for his sleigh for the greeting and also some tinsel for the reins and a red gemstone for Rudolph's nose. I am loving using my Cricut, there are endless ideas but this is my favourite. This is definitely going to someone who I know will love it!

For my special hubby

I also made this one today, it's for my lovely husband who is the best so I wanted to give him a card to put on his desk. I have been wanting to use my mitten die cuts off my "Joys of the Season" Cartridge and this was perfect. I used my nestabilities to cut the scalloped square and decorated the card with a snowflake eyelet and brad. I printed a sentiment on the computer. Greg loved it and he warms my heart every day ♥

Silvery Snowflakes

Today I made a wintery themed Christmas card. I layered up some bluey grey papers and embossed one of the layers using my Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. Then I cut out a large and some small snowflakes using my "Joys of the Season" Cricut. I then decorated them using a snowflake eyelet, brad and some rhinestones along with a large white button for the largest snowflake and some ribbon. I finished the card with a joy sentiment from my Cricut.
